Candidates today have many opportunities to make a job switch. With numerous start-up companies emerging, along with well-established midsize and large companies, the options are vast. But what do candidates look for when making a switch? Is it just a salary raise? Is it the company culture, work-life balance, or the opportunity to step out of their comfort zone? Let's explore.

To understand what exactly a candidate looks for when making a switch, we need to understand why they are looking for a change in the first place. Most candidates mention they are seeking change from a growth perspective. They might be happy with their current pay but lack exposure to challenging work, feeling stuck in their comfort zone. Hence, they might be looking for new opportunities.

Another group of candidates is burnt out from excessive workload, ruining their work-life balance. Instead of finding work satisfaction, they drag themselves to their jobs. They may or may not be working in an area they like, but they seek change because they aren't getting enough time away from work to switch off.

Additionally, some candidates might be working in their area of interest with a manageable workload, but they are stuck in a toxic work environment. This lack of work satisfaction and the pressure and stress it brings prompt them to look for a change to protect their physical and mental health. We have created a separate blog post on toxic environments, which you can read here.

Lastly, some candidates feel underpaid. They believe they are working more than expected for their role and not getting adequate compensation. They may or may not be working in their area of interest. The reason for seeking change is to find work in another area with good compensation or the same area with better compensation.

We understand and respect the reasons described above and believe we should help candidates out of their current situation. At Talentnauts, we discuss with candidates to identify their reasons for looking for change. This helps us find the right opportunity for them.

If you are looking for a change, feel free to reach out to us. We will help you find a company you will love to work at. Cheers!
